Getting fit doesn't have to be intimidating. But it should be thought out. One of the most important things to know and to do when you are starting a fitness program is to focus on your diet. When I work with people who are just starting out at the gym, they're always surprised that I ask them about their nutrition. But, fitness and nutrition are really one package and then need to be thought of in tandem.
For instance, if you don't eat breakfast and then you think you're going to go to the gym and get a great workout - you'll be in for a surprise. Your muscles don't have the energy they need to give you a complete workout. Essentially, you're cheating your body out of half of the workout you could have.
